Aspiring Newscasters Take Note: cueprompter.com!

Hello everyone,

Not sure where I heard about this handy website (I usually make a note to credit the source, so if it’s you, please comment to take credit, and thanks!). Basically, as the name implies, it’s a website that mimics a teleprompter:

http://www.cueprompter.com/

This could be terrific when used with a school morning news broadcast (run it on a laptop, off-camera) and possibly even for more serious productions like messages from district administrators. I just tried it, it’s pretty neat, and super easy to use, just cut and paste your script in and you’re ready to go! Definitely worth checking out!

Happy New Year!

  • I’m wondering if this might come in handy for adding narration in some video-making situations. –Paul

I can see this being of use as we begin podcasting with our students. VERY excited about this app. Thanks….as always!

I know I’m looking at this link when the world is probably looking at far more advanced things than this (as it’s almost a year since it was posted), but it seems really good for my needs. I am a first year technology teacher at a K-5 school in Canada and I have to admit that your site gives me really exciting things to think about every time I visit it. The most important thing about your links and info is that it is almost instantly usable. Excellent job and thanks, Kevin!

  • Ms. Shori, so happy you are finding my site of value! And you have no reason to apologize! There are TONS of things we all use every day that are PLENTY old – as long as they are NEW TO US, it doesn’t matter! Congrats on the teaching job! How are you finding it? Anything you need help with?

Thanks Kevin! I love the job. I had been a grade 4 teacher last year (which was my first year of teaching) and this year feels like another first one in this new role of a computer teacher. The challenge is to be acquainted with each grade’s curriculum and to come up with engaging and at the same time, academic activities keeping in mind what’s being covered by the homeroom teachers. Conferences and workshops have given me great ideas – some of which I have used and others compiled! The goal is to reach high and with sites like this (and others that link to this) along with some experience and imagination, I will hopefully get there! Keep up the great work and thanks again :)
