Integrating Technology with Marzano’s Instructional Strategies
5 CommentsGood morning all,
Came across this terrific resource yesterday via a Twitter from Margo Jantzi, Library Media Specialist at Cub Run Elementary School in Virgina. She was (and is!) attending the Virginia Society for Technology in Education 2008 Annual State Technology Conference. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to share it!
This voluminous site, created by created by Sherri Miller, Instructional Technology Resource Teacher for Gloucester County Public Schools, is based on research from: Classroom Instruction That Works by Robert J. Marzano, Debra J. Pickering, Jane E. Pollock. I love the way Sherry’s site presents a brief summary the nine research-based strategies written about in the book and then offers targeted and READY-TO-USE templates, graphic organizers, online activities and more, many of which use the tools we already have in the classroom: PowerPoint, Inspiration/Kidspiration, Word, Excel, the Internet, etc. This site ROCKS! I can only imagine how the presentation went!
Thanks for sharing, Margo! Hope you are enjoying the conference!
Hope this helps,

Kevin,
This is an awesome resource, thank you for sharing! While we give our teachers the research on Marzano’s instructional strategies, we have not integrated it with technology and I have to say that these examples are terrific and tremendously useful for a classroom teacher.
Again, thank you for sharing!

I am hoping to develop a master’s degree program for secondary teachers and will appreciate all input on what teachers need to know and be able to do. Thank you!!!!!
