Zoom Albums: the ultimate ‘brag book’ YOU publish!

Hi everyone,

As you probably know I strive to feature the very best FREE resources on the web for K-8 educators, homeschoolers and students/parents. From time to time, I do make exceptions, but only for exceptional products. ZoomAlbum.net is one such example! It’s free SOFTWARE you download to create cool flip books on PAPER that costs money. Here’s a look:

I heard about ZoomAlbum.net from Twitter user zaellen, Zoom Album’s Sales Director. I love this concept! All you need is a good, high-quality photo printer, the special Zoom Album paper, and your photos. In a matter of minutes you’ve got an awesome, miniature, portable book! Here’s a video explaining the process:

Ok, so the only downside? The cost. Speaking as an educator, I have to say that with the current pricing, it’s hard to see this being used in a school. If I’m getting the math right on the volume purchasing option page, it looks like a little under $10 per album.  In my opinion, this is not within the reach of a teacher who needs 25 of them (except maybe if they get a PTO grant…hmmmm) but is perhaps a reasonable expense for a parent, grandparent, or team coach with a budget.

So what do you say, Ellen? Howsabout some discounts for the educational community? :-) Love your product, and I totally get that you’re a business and you need to make a profit. Just hoping you’ll see the benefit of courting us teachers as a market segment, and come up with some attractive discounts! :-)

Hope this helps,

  • ABSOLUTELY! Maybe you didn’t know this but I was an Elementary School Counselor for 10 years. I actually set up a special educators discount a couple of years ago. Excellent tool for teachers! Let me talk to the team and see what I can re-establish for you.

For the last 2 years, I’ve gone into my nephews 4th and 5th grade classes and helped them make ZoomAlbums with fun group pics that they decorated!

Hey…and thanks for the posting the video…I just put up a couple more videos of the process…including one of my daughter folding one…she explains it while folding (really cute).

I’ll let you know as soon as I set up the promotion for you to use and pass along, of course!

  • Hi Ellen! Former school counselor? Cool! Thanks for commenting. I think the educational market would be HUGE for your organization. You could sell at a steep discount to schools and related orgs, and let them resell at (somewhat) higher prices and keep the difference! Or, you could just sell directly to schools for, like, maybe 5% over cost? Think what getting these cool little books into the hands of schoolkids everywhere would do for your market share! Heck, you know what, what you really need is a FREE TRIAL PACK FOR EDUCATORS with like enough paper to do maybe three books. Honestly, your product is really innovative, but the price has got to come WAY down to be viable for most of us. Again, thanks for joining the conversation on this! -kj-
