Good morning everyone!
Internet-based research can be difficult, especially for school-aged children. A search engine is a must, but even that isn’t enough – you need a kid-oriented search site to ensure high-quality, appropriate materials are presented. It’s no easy task – so our media specialists (Mrs. Gill and Mrs. Bonsall) and I decided to create a list of kid-friendly search engines (and databases) for use by NCS students. Here they are:

You can find this page on the school website using this navigation:
Home Page -> Media Center (left menu) -> Search Engines (in table)
Now, I am a firm believe in not recreating the wheel – and so, when I came across another similar “page of search tools,” I knew I had to share it. This one is a bit different, but DEFINITELY worth checking out:

Mr. Jerry Kuntz of the Ramapo Catskill Library System in Middletown, NY put this collection together. Thanks Jerry! He based it on InfoPeople’s Best Search Tools.
I particularly like Jerry’s collection because it facilitates searching in ways you don’t see often – including some outstanding research sources I’ve never even heard of. Searching KidsClick by reading level is awesome, and, Berit’s Best Sites is a treasure in itself!
Seek and ye shall find, everyone! Have an awesome day!
