Good morning all!
This site is both amusing and educational – as the name implies, acronymfinder.com helps you find … acronyms! Here’s a quote from their home page:
With more than 475,000 human-edited entries, Acronym Finder is the world’s largest and most comprehensive database of acronyms, abbreviations, and initialisms. Combined with the Acronym Attic, Acronym Finder contains more than 3 million acronyms and abbreviations.
It’s school-friendly from what I’ve seen (to be sure, I tried some searches that might be considered dangerous and nothing inapprioriate came up.) The site appears to be worldwide, so there are many more definitions than one might expect, but, it’s a good thing. :) Check it out for yourself!

What I don’t like about acronymfinder is the number of ads. The site that I like is All Acronyms (www.all-acronyms.com).
Hi Maria,
Actually, I just tried all-acronyms, and while it is great, I did find some definitions I’d consider NOT school-appropriate. All-Acronyms, alternatively, does a great job of sanitizing the content to make it school-safe. Some might argue this reduces the site’s true value, but my position is the loss in “authenticity” for these entries is an acceptable compromise.
