I’ve known about this site for a while, but I can’t find a posting here about it, so I must have never shared it. I learned about it from a colleague at NCS (no longer teaching here, sadly).
ChompChomp.com promises “Grammar Instruction with ATTITUDE” and it clearly delivers! This well-designed, fun-to-use site teaches grammar using simple yet effective excercises that are great on a one-to-one basis or with the whole class (even better with a Numonics interactive whiteboard). Excercises are provided on Comma Splices,Fragments, Irregular Verbs, Commas, Pronoun Agreement, Pronoun Reference, S-V Agreement and Word Choice. They feature simple explanations and spiffy original graphics to get and hold students’ attention. The site is irreverent, but in a hip, “it’s cool to know grammar” sort of way. I enjoyed reading Robin’s bio, which gives some insight into the very talented lady who designed this site. Clearly, she’s on a mission to make learning grammar fun. What a concept! Thanks Robin!
