  • SpellingTime.com – Interactive Spelling Help

    Good morning all!

Came across this site over the weekend – it is a very sophisticated (yet simple and fun) website that uses talking avatars to help teach spelling! Membership is completely free (though I recommend parents sign their kids up). It bills itself as a resource for students in grades 1-5 but I would think the interface would be a bit too much for most 1st graders (early in the year at least). The demo is excellent and shows you exactly what you can expect. There are games, a ‘Word of the Day,’ and even a ’100% club’ for motivation. Progress reports are also available. It’s very, very slick! Check it out!

    Hope this helps,
