Web 2.0 Workshop in Philly Feb 2&3

Good morning all!

Will Richardson (the stately gentleman pictured here) is coming to Philadelphia this February with a Web 2.0 workshop you won’t want to miss. Held on the 2nd and 3rd at the Science Leadership Academy, “Web 2.0 for Classroom Teachers” promises to be a focused, informative, practical and fun exploration of the technologies shaping our classrooms and the world. I’ve known Will since 2003 and have seen him present many times, most recently at Alan November’s Building Learning Communities ’06 conference in Boston. You won’t find a more knowledgable, relaxed, thought-provoking and motivational presenter (there’s a reason he calls it ‘Blogvangelizing’!). Web 2.0 is way more than blogs, of course, but that’s where it got started for Will back in 2001. He’s been blogging longer than I’ve been teaching! Participants get a copy of his book, “Blogs, Wikis Podcasts and Other Powerful Web Tools for Classrooms.” My copy is sitting right here next to me, it’s a must-have for anyone looking at blogs in the classroom.

Though I can’t attend due to a family commitment that weekend, I wanted to spread the news (to all six of you who read this blog, LOL) about Will’s upcoming presentation in the hopes that others will have the opportunity to attend. Check it out! Tell him I said hello!
